Phera is a three-shuttle weaving technique that interlocks the weft of the body of the fabric with the weft of the borders on both sides. This technique is used to create simple straight borders as well as intricate temple borders on saris. Due to its complexity, it requires two weavers to work together in sync. The term "Phera," which means "turn around," refers to the shuttle turning at the point where the two wefts intersect.

As this product is handwoven, slight variations in color, texture, and design may occur, adding to its unique charm and authenticity.

The body of this handwoven Sapphire blue Kosa silk saree is woven using the three-shuttle Phera technique, while the contrasting off-white temple border is created using the Phera technique. Its bold earther allure is a tribute to the women weavers of Chhattisgarh, who have upheld and fortified the foundation of traditional Kosa weaving.
