Phera is a three-shuttle weaving technique that interlocks the weft of the body of the fabric with the weft of the borders on both sides. This technique is used to create simple straight borders as well as intricate temple borders on saris. Due to its complexity, it requires two weavers to work together in sync. The term "Phera," which means "turn around," refers to the shuttle turning at the point where the two wefts intersect.

As this product is handwoven, slight variations in color, texture, and design may occur, adding to its unique charm and authenticity.

When a Charcoal grey coloured dye is added to desi Kosa, it creates this beautiful grey which resembles the ash mixed plaster that adorns the walls and floors of traditional homes in Chhattisgarh. This saree is an ode to the innovation endemic in traditional crafts that use natural materials in inventive ways. The grey body of this handmade Kosa silk saree is highlighted with cream Kosa silk thread woven using the Khapa technique.
