Phera Technique

When a fossil grey coloured dye is added to desi Kosa, it creates this beautiful grey which resembles the ash mixed plaster that adorns the walls and floors of traditional homes in Chhattisgarh. This saree is an ode to the innovation endemic in traditional crafts that use natural materials in inventive ways. The grey body of this handmade Kosa silk saree is highlighted with seaweed green and celeste green Kosa silk thread woven using the Khapa technique.
